I love chocolate and bread and wine and caramel cake! I love spaghetti and coffee and doughnuts and beer! Basically if it's a refined carb I'm struggling to say no. I am a recovering sugar addict. Can you relate?
When my doctor told me about 5 years ago to quit the sugar, I cried out "No! and laid over on the exam table! Ok, maybe not that dramatic, but damn near close. How could she dare ask me to give up the one last thing that brought me joy! I mean I gave up diet soda, late nights and high heel shoes for God's sake! I literally ignored her for 3 years and the menopause symptoms got rough; the fatigue, the night sweats, the indigestion, the headaches. And the weight continued to add up, even though I was "making healthy choices" and moving my body regularly. Let me be clear, I am not advocating cutting all carbs, no way! Our bodies need carbs for energy and brain power. Just refined sugars, ladies. I'm sharing my three tips here!
