I'm back!! and the list of books that are getting me into and through the Menopause Transition goes on! These next five are not just on the topic of Menopause, but books that I think every woman 35+ should have on her bookshelf or bedside table. They are books I go back to again and again for reference and motivation.  So open your Amazon cart or the website of your favorite local bookstore and let's go, girl!

If I Could Only Have Ten Books on Women's Health (that would be awful, but here ya go!)
Pt. 2: The Last Five

Sixth, "Wise Power" by Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer is my current favorite book for women of all ages. Alexandra and Sjanie are inspiring and filled with embodied wisdom, celebrating the cyclical nature of a woman's life. They discuss menopause as a spiritual undertaking and give us language and new ground rules to guide us.  In my opinion,It is a must read for anyone 35+.

Seventh, "Women Who Run with the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes is one that I was late coming to, and oh, I am so glad I found it.  It's poetry and stories, honoring all that it is to be a woman; the wild, the untamed, the passion and the dreams.  It's long and deep and I suggest reading it in small chunks, putting it down and then returning to it over and over.

Eight, "Next Level, Your Guide to Kicking Ass, Feeling Great and Crushing Goals Through Menopause and Beyond" (shew, what a title) by Stacy T Sims may seem like a book for ladies who are athletes or already into strength training, however I think it is very accessible for most of us.  She addresses the hormonal impact of menopause and how they impact such things as our body composition. This book is  for my ladies that are interested in strength training and movement.

Ninth, " Rise, Sister, Rise" by Rebecca Campbell is my guide for the sacred feminine. She uses personal stories, feminine history, poetry and mantras.  This book will leave you feeling strong, alive and powerful as Rebecca calls for us to "rise up, tell our truth and lead".  It is full of tools, exercises, rituals and questions to move us on our path of awakening and rising up! Another must read for all women!

and (last but certainly not least)Tenth, "Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown. I mean would a booklist for women be complete without a Brene book? Her conversations around vulnerability and shame, which speak to my menopause doula heart,  are transformative. These are conversations we need during the menopause initiation. And....The research nerd and questioner especially loves her writing style (stories with a little science thrown in).

There you have it! My Top Ten List. (if you missed last weeks post, go back and read it) And let me just say, I have more where that came from..... so stay tuned, friend!

P.S. I'd love to know what books are in your stack? Drop them in the comments!
